Welcome to the Hippodrome

One of the UK's largest community run theatres

 Next Show 26th April 2019

PLEASE NOTE THAT JASON MANFORD WILL NOT BE APPEARING AT THESE EVENTS

Manford's comedy clubs, which can be found all across the country, were devised by the stand-up himself after realising that, for some reason, comedy was further down on the 'to do' list for a night out then ten-pin bowling. Aimed at showcasing truly good comedian who are working the circuit, it's all about Manford's favourite comedians getting together to make you laugh. What more could you want?

The Line-up ...

JASON COOK

“the best MC this side of anywhere…. Geordie genius” Tim Arthur, Time Out, London

Be ready for pretty much anything when Jason Cook takes to the stage. Behind his cheerful Geordie exterior lurks a dark, sharp comedic mind capable of taking an unsuspecting audience to places they didn’t want to go. Jason has a way of presenting true-to-life stories that drag you in and won’t let go, close to the edge but always intriguing and blessed with the sort of charm that’ll have you laughing in spite of yourself.

At the same time Jason can cater to any audience with his prolific writing and irresistible charm

JAMES COOK

This Birmingham comedian has been called "suave and chirpy" by the world famous Bromsgrove Advertiser, and a "sarcastic raconteur" by the Leeds Metro. This means he has somehow been likened to a "future Frank Skinner" (Birmingham Metro) and "Dylan Moran’s younger brother" (The Stage). A less lazy journalist said he "shows scant regard for the hackneyed conventions of stand-up" (The Scotsman) which, he’s been assured, is a good thing. His favourite quote is that he "destroyed my concrete belief that all comperes are twats" (eyeonmoseley.com).
