A Midsummer Night's Dream
The Hippodrome Youth Theatre are delighted to invite you on a brand-new adventure as they present a fast-paced, abridged version of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, told in two acts of 45 minutes, and set in the present day.

Join us as Demetrius, Lysander, Helena and Hermia escape Athens for the moonlit woods. There, alongside a band of enthusiastic amateur actors, they fall under the spell of mischievous faries — tumbling into a magical dream world where illusion and reality are hilariously confused.

A Midsummer Night’s Dream marks the first performance in our new youth scheme, The Bard @ Todhip — created to give local young people the chance to become familiar with Shakespeare, right here in their home town.

The production is directed by Elizabeth Holland, whose passion for Shakespeare has previously brought his plays to the Hippodrome stage with adult members of Todmorden Amateur Operatic and Dramatic Society.
