From Sketch to Stage

Ever wondered what really happens behind the scenes to create a major West End or Broadway production?

Then join us at Todmorden Hippodrome for a special evening with Chris Boone, Technical Director at Chichester Festival Theatre and former Technical Director at Cameron Mackintosh Ltd. He has 32 years of experience of producing theatre around the globe as well as touring all over the UK before settling in Chichester."

Chris will provide us with a fascinating talk on how West End Shows, such as Les Miserables; Hamilton & Mary Poppins are transformed from sketches into breathtaking reality. He may also provide us with some behind the scenes fun facts and mishaps - as long as what's said in the room stays in the room where it happens!

Chris is generously giving his time to support Todmorden Hippodrome and our fundraising efforts, sharing stories and insights from his career behind the scenes of some of the world’s biggest shows.

From the first sketches and technical plans to the moment the curtain rises, discover what it really takes to bring a production from idea to stage.
