Proof - By David Auburn
What do we inherit – genius or madness?
Smart, funny and deeply human, TAODS is proud to present David Auburn’s Pulitzer and Tony Award winning Proof. Both moving and suspenseful Proof is a riveting, fast paced drama that crackles with wit and heart. Blending sharp humour with emotional depth it explores the fine line between brilliance and instability, and the bonds that hold us together even when reason falters.
Catherine, the daughter of a legendary but unstable mathematician finds herself at a cross-roads after his death. After years of caring for her father, Catherine must deal with the arrival of her estranged sister Claire and the attentions of Hal, a former student of her father’s hoping to find value amongst the many notebooks he left behind. The discovery of a mysterious notebook sparks a battle over trust and love whilst Catherine struggles to solve the most perplexing problem; how much of her father’s madness – or genius – will she inherit?

Open Get-Together and Auditions

TAODS is delighted to announce details of the upcoming get-together and auditions for "Proof".
All of our productions are cast through open auditions where returning members and new faces alike are welcome. The get-together is an opportunity to come along to a relaxed evening where you will meet the director, find out a little more about the play and join in an informal read through of the script.
The auditions that follow will take the form of a workshop where selected scenes or passages of the play will be used. These will be decided nearer the time of the audition and be made available to all those who wish to audition for one of the parts. Proof is a 4-hander and a breakdown of the characters can be found below.
