1940 - Britain is under siege, and the skies are a battleground. Enter the unsung heroines of the Air Transport Auxiliary (ATA) - the "Spitfire Girls."
From radically different backgrounds, these fierce, trailblazing women signed up for the deadliest delivery job on earth: flying formidable military aircraft from factories to the front lines. Flying by sight alone, and battling both treacherous weather and deeply rooted sexism, they kept the Royal Air Force alive.
Katherine Senior’s gripping, witty, and deeply moving play brings their untold history out of the clouds and onto the stage. It’s a soaring tribute to camaraderie, defiance, and the soaring heights of the human spirit.
Spitfire Girls tells the story of two sisters who join the Air Transport Auxiliary in 1943 and find themselves ferrying fighter planes across the country. With the unofficial motto “Anything to Anywhere,” ATA pilots flew without radio, instruments or weapons, navigating from the landscape below.

A huge thank you to everyone who came along to audition last week. We were overwhelmed by the talent on display, and our audition panel certainly didn’t have an easy job deciding on the final cast. We're delighted to see both returning and new faces join us for this beautiful production.
