Welcome to the UK's largest community owned theatre
We have recently opened our new foyer area and are keen to invite the community to enjoy the beautiful new space.
From October our volunteers will be opening the doors on Wednesdays between 10am and 4pm. The Box Office will be open as well as the coffee bar for hot drinks and cake!
In the mornings 10am -12noon there will be an informal stay and play session for pre-school children and their parents. This will be a chance for parents to chat and children to explore a small selection of activities. Towards the end there will be a story and song time led by a Hippodrome volunteer. Please note, the space will be open to the public and there is lots of furniture so children will need to be closely supervised at all times.
On the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of the month we are working with Age Concern to bring a range of activity for older people to the Hippodrome. Anyone who identifies as older is welcome (although the space is open to the public as well) and we plan to start by finding out what themes from our archive people want to explore and what activities people are interested in joining in with!
